Internal Control and Inspection departments are facing the challenges of the increasing adoption of technology by their organizations. Banks have deployed technologies that enable customers to be served online real time and also transaction can now be carried out via the ATM, POS, Internet, SMS etc.
Conducting an audit of the parameters set and calling over the transactions carried out on these e-products is not very clear to most Auditors. Ensuring that e-transactions are completed, entries have been correctly passed into the appropriate accounts and that there are no e-frauds going on unnoticed is a very big challenge to Internal Control and Inspection departments.
